The Mounts

Yet another aspect of the hand, and one which can also give out a lot of information, are the pads or Mounts. These lie around the outside edge of the hand and each can be shown to be in one of three stages of development. The standard mount may not be very easy to see but will be rounded and obvious to the touch. Over developed or prominent mounts are much easier to see, they can be slightly discoloured taking on a yellow hue and can be rough to the touch. Finally, under-developed mounts will not be present at all either by sight or by touch. Look at your own hand and then consider the following guides:

1. Venus Mount
Relates To:Health matters and emotional needs

Under Developed	Cold and lacks energy, inhibited, may have psychic abilities and keen intuition, often restless and unhappy.
Normal	Warm, affectionate, active, generous, emotional, love of arts.
Over Developed	Sensual and magnetic, love of arts, impulsive, vain, bad tempered, egotistical.

2. Lower Mars
Relates To: Physical Energy and Passion

Under Developed	Lacks energy and aggression, shy.
Normal	Balanced energy all-round
Over Developed	Dogmatic, great physical energy, generous.

3. Jupiter Mount
Relates to: Ambition, Leadership, Drives

Under Developed	Lacks self-esteem, lazy, self motivated, worrier. May have a tendency for depression.
Normal	Well balanced, social, confident and self reliant, well organised, spiritual.
Over Developed	Dogmatic, selfish, conceited, arrogant.

4. Saturn Mount
Relates To: Mental health, learning and study

Under Developed	Nervous, frivolous, vindictive, worrier
Normal	Likes peace and quiet, love of nature, kind, truthful, independent.
Over Developed	Easily upset, melancholic, serious. May be depressive, often interested in Arts.

5. Apollo Mount
Relates To: Creativity, artistic talent.

Under Developed	Self conscious, dull, shy, bad tempered. May be good actors. Often mean with money.
Normal	Happy, helpful, sympathetic, giving, cheerful, loving, sincere.
Over Developed	Enthusiastic, happy, generous, Can be fortunate sign. Can be extravagant or rash, often gamblers.

6. Mercury Mount
Relates To: Mental Abilities

Under Developed	Lacks drive, initiative and often sense of humour. Often lethargic and unimaginative.
Normal	Intelligent, restless, changeable, good in business, cheerful, talkative if allowed self-expression.
Over Developed	Good talkers, moody, ambitious. Can find it easy to lie.

7. Upper Mars
Relates To: Mental Energy and concentration

Under Developed	Shy, cowardly.
Normal	Balanced energy, average all-round
Over Developed	Determined, versatile, clever, ambitious, hot tempered.

8. Luna Mount
Relates To: Imagination and Intuition.

Under Developed	Lacks imagination, secretive, shy, sceptical, often religious.
Normal	Original and imaginative, needs harmony and balance, creative, intuitive affectionate, likely to be interested in spirituality.
Over Developed	Eccentric, imaginative, romantic, idealists, lovers of travel and change, can be jealous and inconsistent.

9. Neptune Mount
Relates To: Instinct

Under Developed	May seem cold and dark, likes to be alone, lacks emotion.
Normal	Lively, cheerful and fun, will sail through most challenges
Over Developed	Magnetic personality, may have acting gifts, likes attention and pleasure seeking.
