A 'Wish List' Spell to Attract a Lover

As with all magic, the intention behind the act - the will to wish - is the driving force which will bring the object of your desire closer towards you. There is no need to follow any directions or formulae for magic, but generally, the more force and energy you can generate for your intentions, the stronger your magic will be. The use of ritual will help you focus your attention and generate more force and confidence around your desires - and so the more likely the magic will work for you. In this case I'd recommend two pink candles (or one large one) - tapers are best, but you can use any non-scented decorative candles. Write your initials on them and then place in front of you in the room where you wish to cast your spell. A prominent location (on the mantelpiece, on a shrine or alter, on a windowsill or either side of your bed) are good places. Making a shrine for the purpose of any spell will help generate the atmosphere, and you may wish to add to this shrine: pink silk, roses or pink flowers, heart shapes, rose quartz crystals, and anything which you feel fondly for: soft toys, spiritual symbols, ornaments, young plants, or lockets. The elements play a part of any spell casting, so you may like to draw representations of each element (air, earth, fire, water) and place them on each corner of your alter. Patchouli and Sandlewood oils or incense will make this spell more potent, especially if you anoint your candles with them. And prayers and other symbols of love will all help to create a healthy spell-casting atmosphere - but don't be tempted to use photos or any other symbols of power to try to bend the will of someone you already know; - Love cannot be forced, but should instead be encouraged to grow and develop in it's own time! Trying to manipulate people will only cause the magic to fail or work against you). Another good tip is to wait until after midnight to begin. Fridays work best but Mondays (Moon-days) can work equally well. But the best advice about timing is to wait for a waxing (growing full) moon - or even better, wait until a full moon night, as these are the most powerful on the lunar cycle. When you ready to begin, set up your shrine if you have one, and take a long soak in the bath to cleanse yourself of negativities and impurities (It's important to think and feel positively at all times - don't doubt it!!). Find a blank sheet of paper* (or several sheets may be better) and a pink pen (or red if you can't find a pink one). Light both of your pink candles, turn off all major lights and distractions, and then using the red pen write at the top of your paper the words:
Then write any affirmations, such as 'I wish this list to bring romance and passion into my heart for many years to come.' So mote it be.' Followed by
Again, the more complete you make your wishes, the more powerful your spell will be - so please add to the list above as much as you can. Another good idea is to decorate your paper with any symbols and affirmations you feel you need to include. At least one heart shape should be on the paper somewhere, ideally at the top and bottom. This represents the symbolic wilfull giving of your own heart to a lover. Finally, at the very bottom of all your work, write as colourfully and clearly as you can this incantation to the Goddess of Love:
Once the wish list is as complete as you can make it, it is time to send the words out into the universe. This means reading the whole list aloud with as much energy and confidence as you can, and with as much imagination as you can conjure up for each statement. Try to picture a partner with these traits, and think about how life would be around this person. When you get to the incantation at the bottom, take a candle and hold it in front of you. Then repeat the incantation slowly and clearly three times before closing your reading with whatever prayers or special extras you wish to add. Think as intensely as you can for this last part to really drive your magic home! End the spell with a simple "Thank You" and/or "So May It Be!" - and let your candles burn until you go to bed. After the ritual you can do one of two things. If you have made an alter or shrine, you could place your list on it with the rest of the things for a week (lighting your candles each night until they are completely used) before taking everything down and burning the wish-list. Or you may wish to let you candles burn completely down the next day and destroy your paper at the end. One way to send your wish-words into the heavens would be to set fire to the paper over a fireproof surface. Then collect the ashes and rinse them under running water, before burying the remains in soil or in the garden. This is an effective way to send your message out to all four elements - fire, air, water and then earth. Do not make any copies of your wish-list or try to remember it again - this will only slow the magic down. Magic can take a long time time - even years - to work, but, if you choose to use the forces of the universe, you will find the outcome will only work when you are completely ready for the consequences...
